Job Nyongesa Juma is a Kenyan, born and raised in Busia. Trained as a graduate teacher, Juma undertook an MA in Kiswahili Literature from Kenyatta University, Nairobi, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Kiswahili, majoring in the analysis of the classical Siti-Binti-Saad’s Lyrics and their place in Kiswahili poesy. As a scholar, Job has chosen Kiswahili Literature as his field operation, engaging in the critical analysis of works and also endeavoring to author some. Currently, he is working on how Less Wanyika and Simba Wanyika employed stylistic devices in their artistic creations, and how these are interpreted and appreciated by audiences. He is the author of a short story, Uprofesa wa Jina (forthcoming), and is also a director of drama plays and performances, having taken candidates up to national competition levels. Apart from his accomplished High School teaching career, Job Juma has doubled up as Kiswahili Lecturer in several institutions, namely, Pwani university, Kilifi, Kenya, Moi University, Mombasa Campus, Mount Kenya University, Nairobi and Nazarene University, Nairobi.
